B-15 Army Air Corps Bomber Jacket

B-15 Army Air Corps Bomber Jacket

The B-15 Army Air Corps jacket, standardized in 1944, was a U.S. Army Air Forces flight jacket that replaced the sheepskin models and featured a cloth shell made of green nylon flight satin, a fur collar, and knit cuffs and waistbands. It introduced new features like an upper-sleeve pen pocket, front slash pockets, and oxygen mask straps, but its Mouton fur collar would later interfere with newer helmets, leading to its modification and eventual replacement by the MA-1 jacket in 1950. This jacket features the original Army Air Corps insigia on the sleeve.
