Ruptured Duck Pin

The "Ruptured Duck" was the nickname for a B-25 bomber piloted by Lt. Ted Lawson during the famous Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in April 1942. The plane earned its name after sustaining damage during a training accident, which left it looking as though its insignia, a painted duck, was "ruptured."
