STS-134 Mission Patch

STS-134 Mission Patch

Embroidered 4-inch patch representing STS-134, the penultimate STS mission and the final flight of the space shuttle Endeavour.

STS-134, launched on May 16, 2011, marked the final flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour and focused on delivering high-value scientific and logistics assets to the International Space Station (ISS). The mission's centerpiece was the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02), a state-of-the-art particle physics detector designed to search for dark matter, antimatter, and strangelets while measuring cosmic rays. Led by Commander Mark Kelly, the six-person crew also delivered the ExPRESS Logistics Carrier 3 (ELC-3), which carried critical spare parts to ensure the station's long-term sustainability after the shuttle fleet's retirement. During the 16-day mission, astronauts conducted four spacewalks to perform complex maintenance, including the lubrication of the solar alpha rotary joints and the installation of a new power system for the station's robotic arm.

When Endeavour touched down at Kennedy Space Center on June 1, 2011, it completed its 25th mission, having traveled more than 122 million miles and spent a total of 299 days in space.
