Tactical Air Command Patch (Historic)

The Air Force Tactical Air Command (TAC) was a major command responsible for providing tactical air power to U.S. military forces. Established in 1946 and active until 1992, TAC oversaw the deployment of fighter aircraft, ground-attack planes, and tactical bombers. Its mission included close air support, air interdiction, and the suppression of enemy air defenses. TAC played a crucial role during the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Operation Desert Storm before it was merged into the Air Combat Command in 1992.
